Apple is biting into scripted television – finally – with its first original series, starring and executive-produced by rap legend and mogul Dr. Dre, 50.
The show is called “Vital Signs” and will span six 30-minute episodes. Sources say it is “a dark drama with no shortage of violence and sex” and that it’s “semi autobiographical” from Dre’s POV.
Though Dre’s people and Apple have declined to comment, rumors flew earlier this week that they filmed an episode with an “extended orgy scene” featuring Dr. Dre in a Hollywood Hills mansion. His wife Nicole was reportedly on set to observe.
Where do we tune in? Well, we can’t yet – Apple’s foray into Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu territory is still a ways off from airing.
Dr. Dre has been in partnership with Apple since 2014, when he sold his audio company Beats Electronics to the tech giant for $3 billion. So, stay tuned for more from Dre and Apple in the near future because it looks like there’s a lot more to come.
