DUTIES:

The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity.


The duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicates with brokers, customers, industry, Staff, Regional, and field personnel with national as well as international implications.
  • Independently coordinates schedules for area-wide field personnel to conduct inspections and ensure compliance.
  • Administers the export program by assuring that all files, reference materials, databases, records, directives, and requirements are complete, correct and current. Prepares reports and answers inquiries on the status of area export program activities. Works with others to identify needs, make corrections, and improve services in all export certification activities.
  • Evaluates records management and electronic records management issues provides solutions and/or improvements to management.  Reviews maintenance of electronic records and non-electronic records such as creation of folders and subfolders and assures compliance with agency records management.
  • Interprets regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and other information applicable to records management for VS NIES.  In the absence of clear regulations, laws, policies, or procedures on records management, makes independent decisions and judgments to resolve special challenges when managing records.
  • Independently, or from rough drafts, notes, or verbal instructions, prepares a draft and/or final form of memos, notices, program standards, policies, documents, budgets, letters to the field, and other types of correspondence.
  • Assists the Administrative Officer in the areas of budget, procurement and training.
  • Performs other administrative support duties as assigned by the supervisor or higher graded employee.
