Rapper ‘Scarface’ Arrested at The B E T Award Show
Brad Jordan, a rapper known as Scarface, was arrested Friday shortly after receiving an award at the BET Hip Hop Awards in Atlanta.
Jordan, a Houston native, faces child support contempt charges and remains in jail as of Monday afternoon, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said.
The 44-year-old rapper received the “I Am Hip Hop” Award during the Friday night ceremony at the Civic Center in Atlanta, according to the Daily Mail.
Flanagan told mySA.com three deputies showed up at the Civic Center and took Jordan into custody without incident.
Scarface released 12 albums as a solo artist, but initially gained fame as a member of the Geto Boys in the late 1980s, according to the Daily Mail.
